Cultural Tour:

Curitiba Center holds many old preserved mansions. Some of them have been turned into small museums. This tour includes four that you cannot miss. The tour can be done on foot, in one morning or afternoon.

Start the tour at Solar do Barão, a set of 19TH century houses that belonged to the Baron of Serro Azul and his family. The mansion became a comprehensive cultural center: there we can find the Engraving, Photography, Poster and Comics Museum, which has a collection of more than 25 thousand comic books. Go next to the home of Romario Martins, in the Largo da Ordem. Right in the center of the Historic Sector, it is the only Portuguese colonial architecture construction that still exists today in this region. The exhibitions in the House of Martins often tell stories of Curitiba and its people. The space is small and yields a quick visit, but full of curious information. The next stop is the House of Muricy Andrade, a beautiful building from the early 20th century that presents exhibitions of contemporary art. Currently on display, a great selection of works of the International Biennial of Curitiba. Through an inner passage, it is possible to reach the courtyard of the Department of Culture. Finish the tour at Sesc Paço da Liberdade. Here, the exhibits are a souvenir – the fun part is spying on the interior of this beautiful building, which was the first headquarter of the Municipality of Curitiba. Do not dispense a cappuccino in the Coffee do Paço and end the ride in one of the most charming places of the city.
